How we choose and compare rings

Last updated: · Published by FirmTech

FirmTech ranks its rings on six criteria applied the same way to every ring, using only figures FirmTech publishes.

How does this site decide which ring to recommend?

FirmTech, which publishes this site, compares each ring on fit, tightness, wear time, tracking, price and warranty, using its published specifications. Because this site is for men who want support without tracking, the Performance Ring ranks first; the TechRing ranks lower only for that reason.

The six criteria

  1. Fit and design

Shape of the ring, how pressure is spread, and the erect girth it fits.

  2. Tightness

FirmTech’s own 1 to 5 tightness rating for each ring.

  3. Rated wear time

The maximum time FirmTech states each ring can be worn.

  4. Tracking

Whether the ring measures anything, and what.

  5. Price and value

List price and bundle prices on getfirmtech.com.

  6. Warranty and returns

Warranty length and the money-back guarantee.

Where the facts come from

FirmTech figures

Prices, wear times, tightness ratings, warranty terms, ratings and review counts come from getfirmtech.com as of November 2026. Customer quotes are reproduced as FirmTech publishes them. We present these as FirmTech's own figures, not as an independent study or audit.

Outside figures

Industry statistics, such as how common ED is by age, are quoted exactly as published with a link to the page we took them from, including rxsleeve.com and menMD. We do not describe other brands' weaknesses.

Performance Ring or MaxPR: which should I choose?

Choose the Performance Ring if you want firmer, longer-lasting erections with a comfortable fit you can wear for up to 12 hours. Choose the MaxPR if you want the tightest hold and the most intense finish and can live with a 90 minute limit. Both cost $60, share the same peno-scrotal design and include a 3-month warranty.

Performance Ring or TechRing: do I need the tracking?

You need the TechRing only if you want data. It measures firmness, quality, duration and nighttime erections and shows insights in the app, for $275. The Performance Ring gives in-the-moment support for $60 with nothing to charge. Men interested in tracking sexual or heart health signals pick the TechRing; men who just want performance usually pick the Performance Ring.

How is a FirmTech ring different from a basic silicone ring?

FirmTech rings are designed with urologists and use an anatomical peno-scrotal fit that loops around both the base and the testicles, with adjustable hook-and-latch tension. They are medical-grade, latex-free, HSA/FSA eligible and covered by a warranty. When comparing any ring, look at the material, whether the tension adjusts, and how long it is rated to be worn.
